Designer duo Shivan and Narresh showcased two collections for the Summer/Resort 2012 season at Lakmé Fashion Week, Mosaic and Handcraft, both of which prominently had color blocked modern cuts teamed with geometric prints. Displaying a marked Bauhausian look, "Mosaic" had some interesting shapes with lovely color combinations shown in jumpsuits, shirts, trousers, jackets and dresses. Also prominent in the collection were color blocked wedges and crazy skeletal lampshade hats.
Their second collection "Handcraft" was a personal favorite of mine. This collection merges couture with swimsuits for the first time on the catwalk. The Prêt collection, featured color blocking along with surface techniques such as braiding, draping and embellishments on handcrafted seamless swimwear. Each piece in this line was handcrafted and took 50-80 hours to create. The swimwear is also resistant to UV rays, sunscreen oil, sand, piling and curling. This collection was also featured at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM in Miami last year.
Also wanted to share that I have been featured as a guest blogger for this week for Be Beautiful, and would like to thank them for this wonderful opportunity!
