Vanity Cask Review - The Hair Edit

Vanity Cask is a new addition to the beauty boxes available in India and I'm glad to be reviewing it today! VanityCask comes with samples of products from luxury beauty brands and each box focuses on a theme catering to a different beauty category. Their previous box was skincare based while the the one presently available which I'm reviewing is the hair edition. I am obsessed with hair care so boy was I delighted to find a box containing hair products only. The best part is that I've tried all the samples in the box and am very happy with the products and can tell you what I think of them.

The box came with 5 deluxe sample from leading brands like Balmain, Moroccan Oil, Organics, Votre & The Nature’s Co and a booklet describing the products and the curation story of Vanity Cask.

Here's what the products are like -

Votre Rejuvenating Hair Oil With Rosemary Oil is a premium blend of natural oils with herbal extracts made to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. Its ingredients include Jojoba oil, Almond oil, Rosemary oil, Jaswand extract, Bringraj, Hibiscus, & Lemongrass. I am not a fan of hair oils but gave it a go in spite of its strong burnt herbal smell and was pleasantly surprised to see that after keeping it on my hair for a few hours and washing it off, it made my hair softer, silkier and shinier.

Nature's Co. Rosemary - Hibiscus Hair Mask is made of Amla, Rosemary, Hibiscus Powder and Methi Powders which are all fantastic for hair. It prevents hair loss, dandruff and controls premature graying of hair. It stimulates hair follicles, tones up your hair and makes it silky and shiny. This one smells weird too but is really good for hair because of its natural herbal ingredients.

Balmain Paris HairXpression Highlights in Elegant Brown feel natural and blend beautifully. These are made of high quality material and feel soft and just like real hair. They can be curled, colored and straightened. Since the extensions are curved, they  follow the shape of your head and give a natural fit and optimum comfort. My mom is a huge fan of extensions so these go to her.

Morocconoil Treatment Original needs no introduction. This wonderful product can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil and shine-boosting vitamins, it detangles, speeds up drying time and boosts shine—leaving you with nourished, manageable and smooth hair. This little sample is perfect for traveling.

Organix Shampoo and Conditioner in Bamboo Fiber-Full and Moisture + Vitamin B5, Organix Shampoos are made of exotic ingredients and are all sulphate free which makes them excellent for your hair. I've used a different variant before and absolutely loved it. I still haven't had the chance to use these but I'm confident they will be great thanks to the numerous positive reviews I've read online.

Vanity Cask is priced at Rs 999, which is a very decent deal for such high quality premium brands and the quantities are enough for both traveling and sampling before you decide to buy the full sized product is. The best part is it makes a great gift too!

Overall, I'm very impressed with Vanity Cask and totally recommend you to try it out. Their next box will be focused on bath & body products and I'm really excited to try that one out too!

My Envy Box February 2017

The February 2017 Edition of My Envy Box is the Indo-French edition and came with a mix of products from both countries. Sadly this month's box had four products instead of the usual five.

But the good part is that three out of these four are full sized and are pretty good! I've already been using them so am quite pleased with the contents of this month's box. So as you can see, there's a full sized bottle of Votre Face Serum, Gulnare Gold Dust Highlighter and L'Oreal Kajal Magique Bold and the only sample product is the Avene Micellar Lotion

Starting off with my favorite product from the box which is surprisingly amazing - Votre Face Serum. I've tried other products from Votre before but they seemed quite meh to me and I'm not a big fan of their packaging as it doesn't look premium so I wasn't excited to see this serum in the box. I casually applied it instead of a moisturizer after a shower and went for my hot yoga class where one of the staff complimented me on how great my skin looks. Later in the evening at work, I casually touched my face and felt that my skin was really soft and told a colleague about it. When I reached home I told my mom about it and her reply was that she was just going to tell me that my skin looks really glowing and radiant. So there we go, three testimonials on day one of application so I can totally vouch for this product! Its amazing! The only con is that it's pricey at Rs 1670 for 12ml but I guess it will go a long way so it's worth it.

The second product I really liked is the L'Oreal Kajal Magique Bold. This pigmented black kajal is waterproof and stays for hours and hours without smudging. It has a creamy texture and glides on skin smoothly. I use it on my waterline and love the effect. Since kajal is a product all Indian women cannot live without, I think this is a very useful addition in My Envy Box. Priced at Rs 350

The third full sized product is the Gulnare Gold Dust Highlighter (Rs 950). This is a natural and organic product with a creamy base. It's a peachy gold color and can be used as a cheek stain, eyeshadow or lipstick. The only sample product is the Avene Micellar Water which is a 3-in-1 no rinse cleanser, toner and makeup remover. It is based on micelle principle that releases cleansing agents upon contact with skin leaving it soft and moisturized. Avene is a French brand and I've used Avene their sunscreen before so I know this one will not disappoint.

Overall, I was quite pleased with this month's box. You can subscribe to My Envy Box here at Rs 850 per month.

G&G Shinny Grey Review | Pinky Paradise

Hey hey! It's a new month and I'm back with a new contact lens review and a new hair color! You know how much I love colored lenses and in this post I'm reviewing G&G Shinny Grey which is also known as Puffy 3 Tone Grey. These are from a Korean brand called G&G which is also known as Dueba Barbie and I got these lenses from Pinky Paradise - a Korean circle lens online store which has a vast range of lenses in various colors, sizes and effects!

Here's what they look like in the lens case -

So I have super dark brown eyes and I absolutely adore light eyes so I went for these gray lenses because they have a dramatic effect and they cover naturally dark eyes perfectly. And this is me when I'm not wearing lenses -

And here I am wearing G&G Shinny Grey lenses -

These lenses have a dark limbal ring and a bluish gray all over with a burst of brown in the middle around the pupil so it basically gives you 3 shades thus the name Puffy 3 Tone.

They also have a nice enlarging effect and since the color is very noticeable in both day and night, it is great for cosplayers too.

I've worn them for a long stretch and not had any discomfort for over 6 hours so they're great on the comfort factor.

I was also bored of my previous hair color so decided to go for a copperish red this time and am loving this shade! It looks way more red in reality but sure is a fun shade! I'm no hairstylist but I actually did it myself at home so am proud of my hair coloring skills!

GIANT PHOTO ALERT!

Overall, I really like these lenses and have even ordered them in brown. So come back in a couple of weeks to read about them on my blog!
